Working in a warehouse without experience
Never worked in a warehouse before? That isn't always a problem.

When you start, you'll receive an explanation of the tasks, safety rules and way of working within the company. That way you can learn the job in practice.
Some positions have additional requirements. If you want to work as a forklift or reach truck operator, for example, a valid certificate may be required. Our vacancies clearly state which experience and certificates are required for a position.
What do you do as a warehouse associate?
No warehouse and no workday is exactly the same. The tasks you perform depend on the company and your role.

Putting products in the right place in the warehouse;
Picking orders with a handheld scanner;
Packing products and getting them ready for shipping;
Checking inventory;

Moving goods with a pallet jack, forklift or reach truck.
You usually work together with other warehouse and logistics staff to make sure orders are processed completely and on time.
Why work in a warehouse?
A warehouse job is interesting if you like being active and hands-on. You usually don't sit behind a desk all day, and you work with colleagues toward a clear result.
In addition, different working hours are possible. Some companies work during the day, while other warehouses use evening, night or shift work.
For shift work, a premium on top of your salary may apply, depending on the employer. Which working hours, premiums and other terms of employment apply is always stated in the vacancy.
You can also grow within a warehouse. For example, you can learn more tasks, earn certificates or eventually move up to a coordinating or supervisory role.
